  Analysis of atomization process of Liquid Chafing Fuel

  The purpose of Liquid Chafing Fuel atomization is to increase the surface area of each unit of mass fuel to promote evaporation, and to disperse the atomization in proper direction, and to promote mixing with ambient air, which has a great effect on combustion intensity and combustion efficiency. When the Liquid Chafing Fuel is dispersed into a fog-like particle, the droplet particles are thinner and the surface accumulates larger. Under the same conditions, the less surface tension of the fuel, the easier the atomization. The finer the droplet droplets form when spraying, the larger the evaporation surface, the better the evaporation of the fuel. When small oil particles are placed in high temperature oxygen-containing medium, the combustion process is divided into three stages:

  (1) Evaporation: oil particles after the heating surface began to evaporate, resulting in oil vapor;

  (2) pyrolysis and cracking: oil and its vapors are composed of hydrocarbons, which can occur at elevated temperatures if they are contacted by molecular states and oxygen molecules. If the contact with oxygen before reaching the high temperature, it will occur pyrolysis. After pyrolysis of oil vapor, solid carbon and hydrogen can be produced. In addition, the oil particles that have not yet been evaporated, if heated to a high temperature, the liquid state of oil also occurs cracking phenomenon;

  (3) Ignition combustion: Hydrocarbons in gaseous states, including oil vapor and gaseous products produced by pyrolysis cracking, are in contact with oxygen molecules and reach the ignition temperature, and begin a vigorous combustion reaction.
